Over 80 students, boys aged 11-16 from various communities based in West Bromwich took part in this mixed-team community tournament with young adults from the local communities refereeing and managing the tournament on the day. This was a whole-day tournament, held on a Saturday and it gave an opportunity for the youngsters to play in a comprehensive tournament and also have enough time to socialise together and find friends from different communities.
The winners received a trophy and all participants received a t-shirt, medal and certificate. This tournament was covered by UK and local media. Plans are being made with the local partners to create a sustainable long-term league and tournament structure to be run by local youngsters.
